The Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North, Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye has written a formal apology to his colleague MPs and Ghanaians through Adom FM. The MP had said in an interview with Adom News Editor, Samuel Dowuona that he is a changed womanizer, but some MP’s are still womanizers. He later concretized that statement on Adom FM Dwaso Nsem Thursday morning, that indeed, 80 per cent of male MPs are womanizers. The statement attracted verbal attacks from the general public and strong criticism from his colleague MPs, who described his comments as unfortunate, amaturish and an indictment on the whole of Parliament. The MP's threatened to ensure that he is hauled before the Parliamentary Privileges Committee and duly sanctioned. There were also hints from Parliament that he might be suspended for his unfortunate conduct. But ahead of any sanctions, he has written to Adom FM stating his unqualified apology to the MP’s and to the general public. We hereby produce the full text of his letter unedited. I, Honourable Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye, apologise to both my colleague parliamentarians and all Ghanaians for the statement I might have made about them on Adom FM on 17 and 18th march, 2011. I did not intend in anyway to hurt anyone. Neither was my statement meant to hurt the sensibilities of anybody. I therefore wish to apologise to anyone who might have felt hurt by my statement. I admit it was unfortunate and I ask my colleagues to forgive me. Signed Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye MP, Afram Plains North Story by: Samuel Nii Narku Dowuona/Adom News/Ghana
