The chief of Tamale, Dakpema Na Alhassan Dawuni has called on the youth of Tamale to exercise restraint.
The call follows violence that greeted the acquittal of 15 men charged with the murder of Ya Na Yakubu Andani II, the late overlord of Dagbon.
Speaking in an interview with Joy News, Na Alhassan Dawuni condemned the violence and urged that the Dagbon crisis is resolved soon.
“I am just advising the youth to exercise patience, and then wait for the authority to see to everything. I know things are going to be ok in the nearest future.”
Na Alhassan Dawuni noted that the property destroyed were, ironically, built with the sweat and money of the same youth that burnt them down.
“We are all one, what happened in Yendi was painful, however, sometimes if you look at destroying something you have suffered to [build], and then in the next hour your annoyance has led you to destroy them. It is of no use destroying something you have suffered to build.”
