The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMET) has predicted higher chances of heavy rainfall over the country this year.In an interview with XFM 95.1, the Principal Meteorologist at the Ghana Meteorological Service, Mr. Amos Narh, stated that many parts of the country would have above normal rainfall pattern this year.Mr. Narh said that the major raining season for the Southern part of the country started in March and is expected to end in July after which the minor season will follow from September.He however stated that the Northern part of the country would have only one rainy season, which would begin from May through to September. He cautioned the public to remain indoors during such rainfalls and strong winds, which could blow anything in its way.The Principal Meteorologist further cautioned the public to avoid coming into contact with flying objects, which could injure them during strong winds.
