Students of Cape Coast Polytechnic are up in arms against their SRC, for allegedly refusing to endorse and channel attachment letters to the quarters for approval.
The about 3,600 students are therefore demanding the refund of the GHC 30 they each paid, for the processing of their letters for industrial attachment.
Currently, the letters have been given back to the students since the Rector of the School has refused to work on the letters because they have not been endorsed by the SRC.
A disgruntled student who spoke to Asempa News said his colleagues are planning to soon hit the streets if the SRC fails to act on their demand.
He said the students have also threatened to boycott the coming SRC elections if their money is not refunded to them.
Meanwhile the PRO to the SRC, Lukeman Derby is blaming the students for undermining the authority of the Council, by refusing to consult Council members before sending their letters for industrial attachment to the Rector of the School.
Lukeman said the students cannot demand the refund from the SRC since it is the administration that is taking the money from students to build an industrial factory which will enable students to have effective internship on campus before finishing their courses.
