The six persons suspected to be behind last week’s rioting and vandalism of pre-paid meters installed by the officials from the Electricity Company of Ghana at Teshie, will be arraigned before court, Thursday.Teshie District Police Commander DSP Samuel Tibil confirmed this to Asempa News.He said the six have been charged with destroying state property.The youth claimed that people in the area are so poor and cannot afford to use the pre-paid meters.Consequently they went round and vandalized the newly installed pre-paid meters.The Police in Teshie then organized a swoop on Tuesday morning and picked up over 30 suspects, screened them and charged the remaining six for destruction.Source: Asempa News/Ghana
