The BRT System is a bus based mass transit system which delivers fast, comfortable and cost effective urban mobility through the provision of exclusive right-of-way lanes.
It would serve as a radial arterial route running from Kasoa through Malam, Kaneshie and terminate at the Central Business District in Accra.
The BRT is expected to service about 12,000 passengers during peak hours per direction of travel with bus frequencies of about 120 buses per hour at peak periods to reduce travel time for bus passengers along the route from about one hour to an estimated 25 minutes.

The six districts earmarked for the implementation of the UTP are the Accra Metropolis, Kumasi Metropolis, Tema Metropolis, Ga East District, Ga West District and Ejisu Juabeng Municipality.
