The Chief Executive Officer for National Health Insurance Scheme, Sylvester Mensah says debt owed to service providers will be paid by the end of October, 2011.
Admitting that the NHIS owes service providers, Sylvester Mensah said on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Monday that the NHIS is working tirelessly to settle the bills.
The New Crusading Guide newspaper in its Monday, 3rd October 2011 edition, published a report that the Legon Hospital had suspended NHIS service.
The NHIS Boss noted that there were lapses in the services delivered by the Legon Hospital with regard to NHIS service delivery to their clients.
He hinted that there is ongoing discourse between the NHIS and the Hospital and hope things will be resolved within the shortest possible time.
Sylvester Mensah said the NHIS had received claims for June and July this year and promised within two weeks, the June bill will be settled as the July bill will be paid by the end of the month.
