The families of two suspects allegedly picked up by national security operatives at Gushegu are demanding to know their whereabouts.
The two, whose names were given as Kareem Ziblim and Amidu Shaibu, were arrested in a swoop on Saturday.
A brother of one of the suspects, Karim Ahmed, who witnessed the incident, told Joy News it has created fear among residents.
He said the police refused to tell them where his brother had been taken to even when the family insisted. He said the action of the police is unfair as it creates the impression that his brother is a criminal.
But in a response to the incident, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gushegu, Fuseini Alhassan said only one person was arrested.
Fuseini Alhassan, who is currently in Saudi Arabia, told Joy News the suspect was arrested in connection with his alleged involvement in the clash between supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2008, which led to the death of one chief and two others, and the destruction of 41 houses.
