A lecturer at the KNUST is advocating the strengthening of monitoring in second cycle institutions to curb the practice of homosexuality in second cycle institutions.
Dr Godfred Yeboah is also calling for the orientation of housemasters and tutors on how to deal with issues of homosexuality to enable them effectively handle such students engaged in the act.
According to him, authorities in second cycle schools should be placed in a position to deal with the issue since most acts begin from that stage.
He observed it is more difficult to correct such immoral behavior when those involved are already adults, hence the need to stem it at the early stages.
Dr Yeboah spoke to Luv News at a conference to counsel the students of the SDA church in second cycle institutions in Kumasi.
“The institutions have to strengthen instruments that will monitor the students; house masters must be vigilant to monitor movement of students, they should also receive orientation on social issues regarding the youth,” he said.
The conference organized by the KNUST branch of the Adventist church seeks to educate the youth of the need to live morally upright lives.
Dr Yeboah warned the future of the youth could be jeopardized if they do not receive the necessary guidance.
