Three hundred and fifty basic school children from various regions in the country were on Monday rewarded by President John Mills for being the most well-behaved and respectful children in their respective schools. The children took home presidential gifts after wining and dining with the president at the Castle. It was the 3rd Presidential Children’s encounter and could not have come at an opportune time, especially, when Christmas bells are ringing soothingly.Joy News’ Presidential Correspondent Seth Kwame Boateng who was present at the occasion said the president was glowing and was all smiles, interacting with the children. It was his first day in office after his leave.President Mills appealed to the children to always uphold the truth and continue praying for a peaceful election next year.“I have great confidence in you young people. You learn and you learn fast. And the responsibility of us adults is to try and inculcate in you the right qualities which will stand you in good stead when you assume positions of authority and influence in our dear country,” the president said.He assured teachers that government will meet their “justifiable demands and expectations.”The children also had the opportunity to ask questions of the president.
