The Bureau of National Investigations, Joy News has learnt, has questioned some officers of the court police suspect tampered with cocaine exhibits left in their custody overnight on the 27th September, 2011.
Lawyers for the trial court judge and his clerk confirmed to Joy News Tuesday that the BNI had invited their clients to come over to their officers for the inquiry.
Lawyer for the court clerk, George Asamani, said they were more than willing to appear before the BNI inquiry because they had nothing to hide.
The Chief Justice’s Committee probing the matter ended its public hearings Tuesday. The four member high-powered panel has since Thursday heard testimonies from all who had one thing or another to do with the case.
It will now work in chambers analyzing four days of testimonies to write a report for the Chief Justice.
But Dr. Kwesi Aning of the Kofi Annan International Peace-Keeping Training Center is doubtful if both committees will be able to determine at what point the substance believed to be cocaine was swapped.
