The President John Evans Atta Mills has visited relatives of victims of the Senya Beraku accident in which 27 people died during the yuletide.
The accident occurred when a water tanker ran into a crowd of merry makers, injuring 30 others.
The President who was in the United States of America when the accident happened visited the area on Wednesday to commiserate with the families.
Joy News’ Elvis Adjetey who accompanied the President reports that Prof. Mills was welcomed by a crowd of mourners and enthusiastic residents.
The mood of the families was pensive as the President prayed that such a misfortune does not recur again.
He promised that the government would do all it could to assist them to overcome their predicament.
Government donated GH¢10,000 for the medical bills of the injured when the Vice-President John Mahama visited the community with some government officials last week.
The families were thankful to the government for the support so far.
Meanwhile, some of the victims who died in that fatal accident have already been given a mass burial over the weekend.
