Workers at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) mortuary in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital are currently living in fear following the discovery of a strange ram on the premises of the mortuary on Wednesday morning. The huge white ram, which had a piece of red cloth tied around its neck, according to workers, was spotted on the premises of the mortuary at about 4:30am.Eyewitnesses told Daily Guide that an unidentified private car parked at the mortuary at about 1:30am and dropped off the ram, after which it sped off. They said the occupant of the said vehicle also dumped some candles smeared with mysterious oil.Because the workers at the mortuary had closed from work and the skeletal staff were asleep, the occupant of the said vehicle was able to escape. The workers were therefore gripped with fear when they discovered the strange ram roaming on the premises of the new mortuary. When Daily Guide visited the mortuary at about 9:00a.m following a hint, the workers and patrons of the place were seen discussing what might have necessitated the dumping of the bizarre sheep there, considering that a similar incident had occurred at Koforidua Government Hospital mortuary on Monday. Some claimed it was for ritual purposes. They speculated that the person who dumped the ram might have been ordered by a spiritualist to do so as a condition of acquiring riches overnight in a practice famously known as ‘sakawa’.None of the workers were able to go near the ram out of fear.Daily Guide later gathered that the ram was finally transported to the premises of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) after the observation of certain rituals. The paper also learnt that the ram was taken to the KMA for safety reasons whilst investigations and other ritual activities continued.
