Kumasi is the venue for the Northern Sector while Accra takes care of for the South.Previous exercises have often been dogged by reports of extortion from either some police officers or members of the public.Reports abound of unqualified recruits, including criminals, finding their way into the service which thrives on integrity, dedication and service.
The police administration is determined to maintain higher standards in this particular recruitment exercise.Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Mahama told Nhyira Fm in Kumasi that due diligence is being done to ensure only qualified people are recruited.“One must confess we’ve not been happy with comments from people about the attitude about our men and our policy guidelines and our plan for the next 5-years is to bring the whole service to acceptable international standards”.He warned that the police administration is leaving nothing to chance.
“We are aware that people can come with other peoples’ certificate so we are going to do proper background checks. This time we are not going to leave thing to chance. We will ensure that those who present themselves are the real people and that criminally do not have records”.Alhaji Mahama urges applicants to report to authorities people who demand money in the name of assisting them to get enlisted.
