Former Attorney General Betty Mould Iddrisu has left the headquarters of the Ghana Police Service in Accra where she was invited for questioning over the controversial Woyomegate scandal. No charge has been preferred against her. Her lawyer, Nana Ato Dadzie told Joy News’ Annie Osabutey that there was no way his client was going to be charged because she acted professionally in her discharge of her duties as the Attorney General. He would not tell exactly what transpired during the interrogation, except to say he was impressed with Betty Mould’s performance. He commended the police service for going about the interrogation in a cordial and professional manner. Given the trend of the interrogation and information given to the investigators, Nana Dadzie does not expect his client to return to the police anytime soon but was quick to add that they are ready to assist anytime the police needed them. The interrogation which started around 5:00pm ended around 8:00pm. According to Annie Osabutey, lawyer Nana Ato Dadzie would not have Mrs Betty Mould Iddrisu speak to the media after her interrogation but she managed to slip out few words of gratitude to all who have supported her in diverse ways. The former AG is being interrogated for her role in the payment of some 51 million Ghana cedis to businessman Alfred Woyome in judgement debt. Woyome was paid for alleged breach of contract in the construction of two stadia for the CAN 2008 tournament.
