Attorney-General Dr Benjamin Kumbour has been questioning some officials in his department who have been implicated in the Woyome case in latest revelations by his predecessor Martin Amidu.
In a statement Mr Amidu claims some top state officials, including the Solicitor General Amma Gaisie, who handled the case, pressured him to withdraw the pending civil suit and pay Mr. Woyome an additional 9 million cedis.
Mr Woyome’s lawyers have accused Mr Amidu of deliberately whipping up public sentiments against their client.
Attorney General Dr Benjamin Kumbour told Joy News he will respond to the issues more appropriately after he queries his officials.
“Because the issues are quite weighty, I have to hear their side of the story,” he said.
Dr Kunbour said he has to speak to about six or seven state attorneys who have been working on the Woyome case.
