The Chief of Defence Staff has asked the security services to adequately prepare for challenges that may arise in this year’s elections an act accordingly to bring national peace.
Lieutenant General Augustine Blay was addressing members of the security services to mark 4th Garrison Day in Kumasi, Friday.
He warned that security commands will not tolerate any act of violence before, during and after the December polls.
The occasion coincided with a simulation exercise dubbed ‘Exercise Brigit’ by all the security agencies to show their preparedness for December polls.
According to Leut Gen Blay, the security agencies will work hard to ensure no individual or group disturbs the country’s peace while maintaining neutrality.
“And even as we achieve positive results, I am sure that we will definitely do our part very well and Ghana will sail through elections 2012 successfully”.
Leut Gen Blay also reminded members of the services to remain neutral while standing up to the task ahead.
“We will surely be mindful of our neutrality but we will surely remain alert to ensure that no one will dare to create confusion.”
