Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira West, Benjamin Ayeh has counseled his constituents to take their health needs seriously by seeking regular medical checkups and also taking their medical prescriptions very serious.
He said this is the only antidote to having upper hand over medical complications which is fast taking many lives very sudden and unannounced. Corroborating his claim, he said these days people die very sudden and unannounced because the ailment in them do not show any symptoms, adding that it is only regular checkups that will detect those diseases early enough for appropriate medications to be applied .
The Upper Denkyira West MP maintained that when this is done, doctors will have firm control over those diseases and those conditions will not deteriorate.
Mr Benjamin Ayeh said this when he donated four multi-purpose Ambulances to four communities in his constituency valued GH¢140,000 from his share of the NHIS fund which is available to members of parliament.
The benefitting communities are Diaso, Ntom, Subin and Dominase all in the Upper West Denkyira West Constituency.
The communities were also asked to take particular interest in what they eat since that is what ultimately makes their health.
The ambulances which will be deposited at the various health posts of the beneficiary communities will also perform multiple functions such as periodic mobile clinics within the communities and their surrounding areas.
Hon Ben Ayeh said the idea is to make health service delivery easily accessible to his constituents and then to take care of the people who have advanced in age and could not regularly attend periodic checkups at the various centres.
Special communication gadget has been provided in all the ambulances to enable people to call during emergency situations.
He has also promised to pay the salaries of drivers who will be employed to drive the vehicles and also intends to pay for the regular maintenance fees of the vehicles.
