It is day two of the strike declared by polytechnic teachers over the delay in processing their single spine salaries.
Though it has been agreed how much the teachers should be paid, the revised salaries are yet to reflect in their accounts and so they resumed a strike they suspended sometime in March over the issue.
A number of services, including teaching, project supervision and invigilating exams have been suspended as a result.
Education Minister, Lee Ocran not only condemned the action but informed the lecturers they will lose their pay for the days they stay out of the classroom.
The impact of the strike is already been felt at the Accra, Koforidua and Cape Coast polytechnics.
Joy FM Upper Regional Correspondent, Albert Sore reported the strike was in full force at Bolgatanga polytechnic.
He said students of the polytechnic were concerned the strike action will negatively affect their impending examinations.
The situation is not different at the Sunyani Polytechnic from where Kuuku Abban of Nhyira FM, reported that students were torn between hanging around and going home.
He said the Students’ Representative Council of the school had been appealing to students to remain calm whilst efforts are made to resolve the standoff.
