The Spokesperson of the Muslim community in the troubled Volta Regional town of Hohoe Alhaji Anas Dawuda is appealing to those who have fled the area to return. He says fleeing from the area is not the solution to the problem which has caused loss of lives and property. Alhaji Dawuda said it was important for the fleeing residents to return to the area in order to engage the people of Gbi for a peaceful resolution of the crises. He told Joy FM Regional Correspondent Agbeko Ben Coffie that there was mutual respect between the two communities until the unfortunate incident of Monday. He contended the situation had been aggravated by sensational media reports. Alhaji Dawuda, who said he is a conflict resolution expert said the leadership of the Muslim community would be using local radio stations as well as the pulpits in the mosques to assuage the fears of the people and urge them to remain calm whilst efforts at dousing the flames continue.
