The Volta Regional Minister Ford Kamel is kicking against an intended tour by the paramount chief of the Gbi traditional area of conflict-hit Hohoe.
Togbui Gaabusu and members of the Gbi traditional council are due to tour the community later in the afternoon to assess the extent of damage following the violence which started last Monday.
Two lives have been lost while more than six thousand people have fled to neighbouring towns.
Ford Kamel said life and property are being adequately protected.
He however insisted the security situation is not conducive for Togbui Gaabusu’s intended visit.
He said he is working around the clock to persuade the chiefs from embarking on the tour.
“If I had my own way I would have advised against this planned tour because it could be recipe for some violent actions.
“I pray that my plea will be accepted by the chiefs,” he said adding more security personnel have been dispatched to the area to maintain peace.
Meanwhile, Joy News Volta Region correspondent said the tour will definitely come on.
He explained however that it is not likely Togbe Gaabusu will be visiting the Zongo community as earlier announced.
Moslem elders have meanwhile asked their youth to remain indoors as they wait for Togbui Gaabusu if he decided to pay them a visit.
