The National Hajj Board will airlift would be pilgrims in the three Northern regions as part of measures enticing adopted in this year’s pilgrimage to Mecca.The pilgrims would be airlifted from Tamale to Accra to prevent overcrowding at the Hajj Village.Registration of pilgrims has begun and potential pilgrims have been urged to pay their monies to the appropriate agents to avert confrontations with the board.The chairman of the National Hajj Board, Alhassan Bene urged all pilgrims in an interview with Joy News to adhere to the 31, August deadline for the registration in order to facilitate preparations towards their airlifting.“It is a favour being done to them by the board. We can decide to do to anybody at anytime looking at the difficulties the group is facing,” he noted.Meanwhile the Hajj Village would be relocated because of the recent plane crash there which claimed ten lives.
