Omanbapa Foundation, a Kumasi–based non-governmental organization, wants the government to afford all Ghanaians the opportunity to mourn the late President, John Atta Mills.The group says the final funeral rites should be organized simultaneously nationwide at the district level to enable the citizenry pay their last respect to the late President.A statement issued by the Foundation said such arrangement will serve the purpose of safety, accessibility and economic interest.“We suggest that they open books of condolences in various districts, municipal and metropolitan grounds for the purpose of safety, accessibility and economic”, the statement said.Chairman of the Foundation, Ernest Yaw Dankwah explained traditional authorities can play significant roles in organizing the funerals.He added the season should also be used to promote national cohesion and peace.Meanwhile, the one week funeral celebrations for the late President are expected across the country.The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council would be partnering all political parties, the Clergy, Muslim community, traditional institutions and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to hold the rites at the Jubilee Park.A non-denominational church service will also take place at the Prempeh Assembly Hall.
