Egypt are poised to meet North-African rivals Tunisia in Abu Dhabi on October 16, according to assistant manager Diaa Al-Sayed.
“We are going to face Tunisia four days after meeting Brazil as both friendly games will be staged in Abu Dhabi next month,” Al-Sayed told FilGoal.com.
Egypt were recently dealt a blow after seeing their proposed friendlies against Benin and Cameroon called off, leaving coach Bob Bradley with no games to play during the international break despite recalling nine foreign-based players.
But now the Pharaohs are set for two tougher warm-up matches next month as they prepare for next year’s World Cup qualifiers.
Although the Brazil meeting has yet to be confirmed, interim FA chief Amer Hussein announced a couple of days ago that the October 12 fixture is set to be installed.
Egypt, who have been dumped out of the CAN 2013 qualifiers last June, have their next competitive game against Zimbabwe in March 2013.
