The Ghana Hajj board is issuing a stern warning to pilgrims who are embarking on this year’s trip to the Holy land, Mecca. It says pilgrims should follow laid down rules else risk been deported. Already, over thousand Nigerian female pilgrims have been refused entry by the Saudi Arabian authorities due to their failure to comply with agreed traveling measures between the two countries. These women are reported to have failed to travel with a "Maharam"' (male companion).Committee Chair, Alhaji Halidu Haruna cautioned Ghanaian pilgrims who breach travel agreements will be refused entry into Saudi Arabia if they operate through travel agents.Alhaji Halidu also warned pilgrims against carrying things like Kola nut which Saudi authorities classify as hard drug.He said those who ignore the warning will have themselves to blame because Saudi security agencies have been ordered to arrest and prosecute offenders. The Hajj Village has been relocated from Elwalk Stadium to the Kotoka International Airport after an Allied Air, cargo plane crashed landed there a couple of months ago.
