The Akyiamehene of Akwamu traditional Area Nana Ansah Okumahene says farming as an occupation in Ghana is a heritage that must be preserved.
He said the younger generation can only take the mantle of preserving this heritage if leaders and chiefs would assist them financially since farming is an expensive project.
Speaking at the fifteenth Yam Festival celebration of Akwamu Traditional Area on the theme; “Unity and Truth” Nana Ansah Okomahene deplored the many chieftaincy disputes that has dogged area.
That notwithstanding, he called on all to come together and restore peace especially now that the whole nation is calling for peace.
He further noted that, the development of Akwamu is very vital hence the need for government to come and ensure that all litigations are resolved in the town.
He also called on all Ghanaians to be peace ambassadors as the 2012 election is almost here with us and also live a peaceful life with one another irrespective of their political affiliations especially in this election year
