Head Coach of Malawi Kinnah Phiri has admitted Ghana was a better side as compared to his team in their 2013 Nations cup qualifier.
Ghana recorded a 19th appearance at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations on a 3-0 aggregate score after beating Malawi 1-0 in Lilongwe on Saturday.
The Flames, who lost 2-0 in the first leg in Accra, reacted late as Acquah raced clear to fire past Malawi goalkeeper Simplex Nthala.
According to Coach Kinnah Phiri who has been asked to step down by the Malawian football fans, his team lost to a world class team.
“We have lost to a better team that is one thing we must understand”. Said Kinnah Phiri
“We did not lose to Djibouti but we lost to Ghana which have a world class team with great players and I’m proud of that”.
“I’m going on with my contract to build a team for future tournaments so the football fans here should have patience because it is going to take time”.
