Ghana President, H.E. John Mahama will host the bronze-winning Black Maidens squad to his office at the Castle in Osu, Tuesday afternoon.
The women's U-17 team were accorded a big welcome after arriving in the country Monday evening from the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Azerbaijan 2012.
Sports Minister, Hon. Clement Kofi Humado announced the decision to the President to receive the Black Maidens to his office on their arrival.
"His Excellency John Mahama wants to meet you at the Castle. We are all happy with what you did," the Sports Minister said.
"Government will announce its package to you at the meeting. We were hoping that you would bring the gold but we are happy that you placed yourself up in the medal zone.
"And as the first African side to win a medal, you are conquerors of Africa."
The Black Maidens beat Germany 1-0 to finish third last Saturday and their feat which handed them bronze is Ghana's best-ever finish at a FIFA women’s competition and the furthest by any African side at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
