The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu the second has dismissed claims that chiefs and traditional rulers are idol worshipers.
But rather he says traditional rulers are true Christians who believe in God and Jesus Christ.
Asamponhene (grandfather of Asantehene), Nana Asampong Boakye the third delivered Asantehene’s words at a special service organized at the Baba Yara Stadium in honour of the visiting World head of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Pastor Ted Neil Wilson.
He says it is wrong for people to assume and describe traditional leaders are idol worshippers because they pour libation to gods.
The Asantehene who presented a Kente cloth and a ‘Mya Nan’ Stool which means pillar to the visiting head of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Pastor Neil Wilson for his exemplary leadership also pledge his unflinching personal support to leadership of the church.
Pastor and Mrs Wilson thanked the Asantehene and prayed for God’s guidance for him and Asanteman.
Several hundreds of members of the church from Ashanti, Bono Ahafo and other parts attended Saturday's service.
In attendance at the Special service were NPP officials-National Chairman Jake Obetsebey Lamptey, Kwadwo Owusu Afryie, the General Secretary and MP for Nsuta –Kwamang, Kwame Osei Prempeh.
District Chief Executive for Amansie Central in Ashanti region, Robert Bennet Forkuo also attended.
