The resident choir of Salt and Light Music Ministry, The Harmonious Chorale Ghana swept seven awards at the GHYouth Choir Choral Festival and Awards held at the National Theatre.
Kweku Acquaah Harrison picked up the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Samuel Appau Aheng picked up the Award for Choral Music Promotion.
The instrumentalist of the year Award went to Augustine Sobeng, the Principal Organist for Harmonious Chorale.
The awards scheme that celebrates choral music players in Ghana started three years ago and has witnessed saw the group, under the leadership of James Varrick Armaah and Rev. Dr. Joyce R. Aryee, being crowned as the best choir in Ghana.
This is the third consecutive time the choir has won the award.
The GHYouth Choir Choral Festival and Awards ceremony which had 50 percent public voting and the other 50 percent voting by the awards board in consultation with the choral music professionals.
In all, there were 16 categories that were opened for public voting and three honourary wards. They were the Lifetime Achievement Award, Award for Choral Music Promotion and Instrumentalist of the Year, which was introduced this year.

Earlier this year, Harmonious Chorale became Champions of the World Choir Games in its maiden participation after winning the Category C28 Open Repertoire and also three other gold diplomas in Tshwane, South Africa.
