First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, has donated food items, beverages, clothing and money to the Osu Children's Home in Accra and the Christ Faith Foster Home, otherwise known as the Fafraha Orphanage.
Considered a friend of many orphanages in Ghana, Mrs. Mahama has been a regular donor to children’s homes across the country, and spends her Christmas and Birthday with the disadvantaged in society.
Speaking during the presentation of items to the Osu Children’s Home, Mrs. Mahama who is also the National President of the Alternative Source of Income Programme (ASOIP), said it is important for society to remember the disadvantaged in time like this so that they will also know it is Christmas time and celebrate it accordingly.
She also had separate donations of cloths and money for the caretakers of the children in both homes.
Supervisor of the Osu Children's Home, Mrs. Sharon Abbey, thanked Mrs. Mahama for always remembering the Home, praising her for the generosity shown towards them over the years.
Henretta Asare-Agyemang, who is the supervisor of the Frafraha Orphanage, on her part, described the first lady as a "kindhearted woman, who has the welfare of vulnerable children at heart".
The First Lady was accompanied by the Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Hon. Sherry Ayittey.
