Police in Bawku have freed all 50 people they arrested for their suspected roles in a clash between Mamprusis and Kusasis in Bazua in the Binduri district of the Upper East region.
The Thursday clash at Bazua extended to Bawku where two ethnic groups reportedly attacked each other.
Yesterday, the Bawku Police organized an identification parade to enable victims of the clash identify their attackers.
But according to the Bawku Police Commander ACP Kwaku Boadu Peprah “but none of them (victims) identified any of them as they earlier said that they know them and they can identify them”.
He told all those arrested were at the end of the exercise freed.
However, ACP Kwaku Boadu Peprah suspected something fishy.
“As we were screening them, a meeting was also going on at Bazua by their opinion leaders and the chief of Binduri…the Binduri chief and their elders came to me that they have met both sides and they have all agreed to live in peace.”
