Master Daniel Asare, 15, a Junior Secondary School (JSS) One student of Roman Catholic JSS at Lolobi-Kumasi in the Hohoe District was electrocuted and killed when inadvertently, he stepped on a live high tension cable brought down by a falling tree.
Kwabena Antwi-Boasiako, Hohoe District Police Commander said that the unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday May 29, this year, at about 1830 hours, when the deceased visiting a colleague in the neighbourhood stepped on the live cable barefooted at the entrance of his colleague's house.
He said Asare became unconscious and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Hohoe District Hospital.
Mr Antwi-boasiako said an autopsy was yet to be performed on the deceased while police investigations continued.
