One statement that a lot of women make about their choice of men for marriage has always been having someone who is 'God fearing'.
This brings up the question of who really a God-fearing man is. This puzzle is what Pastor Enoch Boama of Christ Embassy Airport City Church has explained in his recent YouTube show, By The Finer Side.
This was the ladies edition of his show which prioritises the values of a true Christian.
Held on on International Women's Day, Pastor Enoch started the ladies edition by explaining the attributes a God-fearing man possesses, so to inform their choice of men for marriage.
"What is a man that actually fears God? A man who fears God is a man who has reverence for God and His word. For example, if you don't go to church, you don't fear the Lord. Hebrews 10:25. A man that doesn't go to church is disqualified to be a God-fearing person as Hebrews 10:25 says," he said.
He emphasised the importance of fearing God, citing Psalm 112:1: "It doesn't matter how kind he is or how good you think he is, he's got to fear God. When you see a man that exalts the Lord, that's a man that fears God."
Pastor Enoch also highlighted the difference between a praying man and a God-fearing man.
"We have confused a man that prays with a man that fears God, because he can't be praying and not fear God," he stated.
In addition to discussing God-fearing men, Pastor Enoch opened up on the characteristics of a Proverbs 31 woman, quoting verses 11-28: "A Proverbs 31 woman does not look at what's trending, she's different… She's dependable, peaceful, industrious, visionary, a good manager of the home, a woman of faith… Her children stand and bless her, and her husband praises her."
He also cautioned women to make informed decisions when it comes to marriage.
"Risk your life (childbearing) for someone that has sense. Don't get married for frivolous reasons. When any man is proposing to a woman, don't just accept because he's handsome or brought you flowers. It has to be more than that," he added.
The show premiered at the Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall, making it a memorable experience for the ladies.
The highly anticipated event, which commenced at 6pm, kicked off with a glamorous photo shoot booth, an exciting spin-and-win prize segment, and an atmosphere that was truly "all shades of fabulous." The evening was designed to empower and inspire the ladies in attendance, and Pastor Enoch did not disappoint.
Pastor Enoch's message on By The Finer Side Ladies Edition served as a reminder to women to prioritize their values and seek a God-fearing partner.
His emphasis on the importance of fearing God and living a life of faith is a valuable lesson for both men and women.
He concluded by advising men to be secure in themselves to attract a ‘Proverbs 31 woman’ and called them rare.
