The Abiola Bawuah Foundation (ABF), a non-profit organisation has pledged its continuous support to promote girl-child education in the country.
This forms part of the Foundation’s ‘100 Girls Support Project’ which seeks to improve the lives of brainy but deprived girls.
Speaking at a press briefing to account to sponsors a year in operation after the launch of ‘100 Girls Support Project’.
Founder and West Africa Regional CEO of United Bank for Africa (UBA), Marufatu Abiola Bawuah said her commitment stems from the support she had from few women in her life while growing up.
“ABF supports girls from nursery to the universities and girls with medical conditions as well and all these is to remember and say thank you to the few mothers who helped me to get this far,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of ABF’s Board of Trustees, Elizabeth Hayfron Asare, said they will not be swayed by the challenges they may encounter but will continue to support genuine needy but brainy girls in the country.
They say, they are willing to support both genders but they have limited sponsorship, thus they are pleading with well-meaning Ghanaians and other NGOs to support the initiative.
The Foundation after a year of existence has among other things, provided disadvantaged girls access to quality education.
The foundation has so far committed over ¢100,000 into the publication of a book ‘Chosen from the Darkness’, which gives a full account of how Mrs Abiola Bawuah defied the odds to get to the top.
