The Ga East Municipal Education Directorate has closed down of Abokobi Presby Basic School in the Greater Accra region indefinitely.
The closure follows an assault on the ICT teacher by some macho men in the area. They were angry because he complained that they were driving recklessly.
A female teacher who witnessed the incident but pleaded anonymity said the attackers followed the victim into his car and beat him up mercilessly.
"Other teachers went to his rescue after some students who saw the assailants beating him called for help. They took him to the staff room and the men followed up to the entrance of the room asking the teachers to allow them to beat up the ICT teacher," she recounted.
The attackers left after raining insults and invectives on the victim, the female teacher narrated.
She told Joy News' Kwetey Nartey that she feels her life and those of the other teachers are in danger.
The headmaster of the School, Joseph Kwarteng said he informed the Municipal Education Directorate about the incident and the general insecurity for both teachers and students.
The school was closed down on Thursday, May 26, following the incident.
According to the female teacher, the attack on the teacher was not the first time this was happening.
"There are some particular classrooms that people go to defecate on weekends and we clean it up every Monday," she added.
The headmaster said the school will be reopened after security is beefed up.
Meanwhile, Joy News is learning that the police at Ayi Mensa in the Ga East Municipality have arrested three persons in connection with the assault on the teacher.
