Ghana’s premium Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) university, Academic City University College, in collaboration with Primetime Limited, producers of the National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ), will host this year’s Sci-Tech Fair, which is one of two events of the STEM Festival, another initiative of Primetime.
Given the importance that STEM education is assuming, Academic City has set out, working with Primetime, to keep up with the trend and ensure the promotion of STEM among the youth.
The Festival, which will come off from July 15, to August 5, 2021, is aimed at promoting the study of STEM in schools, educating Ghanaians on the various careers in STEM, as well as giving the Ghanaian youth the opportunity to explore and showcase their innovative ideas.
The initiative constitutes the Mentorship Sessions and the Sci-Tech Fair, which were previously satellite events on the NSMQ.
The Festival will be climaxed by the Sci-Tech Fair, which would come off on July 29 and 30, 2021 at the Academic City University College in Accra.
The Fair would be in two segments; an Exhibition and the Sci-Tech Innovation Challenge, which would be among ten senior high schools.
The university believes that the STEM Festival provides a suitable platform to encourage and impact the young Ghanaian with relevant knowledge and experience on ways to leverage the opportunities of STEM for Ghana’s economic development.

Speaking on the collaboration, Dr Lucy Agyepong, Associate Dean of Engineering, Academic City said, “We at Academic City are excited to partner with Primetime to deliver this innovative initiative to expose students and the general public to the opportunities of STEM education”.
