Thousands of students are expected to attend the Annual Students Summit organized by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA ) on Friday, 21 August 2015 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Themed, “Employability, Be in Demand”, the summit will enable students to interact with top business executives and hear their insights and experience on having a successful career.
The Annual Students Summit will be opened by the Honourable Deputy Minister of Education Okudzeto Ablakwa who will deliver the key note address. Students attending the event will also be able to hear from the Chief Executive of Beige Capital, Mike Nyinaku who will speak on the main theme.
With his rich experience in building a successful business from scratch, he will speak from the perspective of an employer, a CEO, entrepreneur and an ACCA member.
There will also be a panel discussion to dissect the nuances of how Knowledge, Experience and Professionalism will accelerate an individual’s spate of growth to the top.
Under the topic “Rising through the ranks, the role of professionalism”, a team of leaders in practice and industry will share insights and experience.

On the panel will be the CEO of UMB John Awuah, the Managing Partner of Deloitte & Touche Felix Nana Sackey, Country Senior Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers Vish Ashiagbor and Chief Financial Officer of Darl Pharmaceutical Sylvia Lawson.
The ACCA Ghana Annual Students Summit will also feature an awards ceremony to honour top affiliates as well as best performing students of the ACCA papers in the December 2014 and June 2015 examination sittings.
The summit will also include a session to provide some updates of the ACCA qualification as well as some resources available to support students successfully complete the examination requirements of ACCA.
A key highlight of the event will be the breakout session where participants will choose from a wide range of the ACCA papers they have keen interest and/or some challenge in.
Resource persons and best performing students will be available to answer questions and to provide the needed support in these breakout sessions.
There will also be a session for persons who have never sat the exams or are yet to sit their very first. They will be provided with an insight into the whole journey from being a Student to attaining Membership with emphasis on the opportunities, added qualifications and support ACCA will provide.
There will also be exhibition stands of ACCA Tuition providers in Ghana where students and potential students will have the opportunity to interact with them.

This summit is one of the tools which will enable us to support our young and upcoming qualified finance professionals”.
