All the five people who perished on the spot in a motor accident at the Amanfoso Junction, on the Sunyani-Berekum trunk road, were at the weekend identified by their families and relatives.
The accident, which occurred last Saturday night, involved a Mercedes Benz saloon car with temporary number DV 1203– 11 and a taxi cab with registration number GT 9891 R.
The taxi was travelling from Berekum to Sunyani while the saloon car was from Sunyani to Berekum.
The names of the deceased were provided to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani on Tuesday by Sergeant Napolean Omane of the Berekum Police Station.
The victims were identified as Isaac Kyere, a 34 year-old taxi driver, Esther Tabiri Baidoo, 31, Oteng Brobbey, 34, Ms. Fobi, 25, a nurse and her 11 month-old baby girl, Priscilla Fobi Nana Afua.
The only survivor on the taxi cab whose name was not immediately available is still on admission at the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum, Sergeant Omane added.
Sergeant Omane said the families and relatives of the deceased had as at Tuesday morning started collecting the dead bodies from the Holy Family Hospital for burial.
