Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), which recently inaugurated its state- of -the -art multi-million dollar new plant, has awarded 33 of its long serving employees at the company’s end of year and long service awards dinner in Accra.
The annual event forms part of the company’s efforts at rewarding committed and long serving employees whose loyalty, distinction and diligence to the company span 10 to 35 years. The awardees took home certificates, as well as cash awards.
Speaking at the event, Anthony Grendon, MD of ABL recounted the commitment and passion of employees which has seen the brewery grow and develop over the past 84 years of its existence in Ghana. He urged all employees to continue to work industriously and help the company achieve its targets especially with the completion of the new multi-million dollar plant which will see the production capability for both beer and soft drinks doubled.
Mr. Akature Ania, Human Resources Director stated that ‘‘ABL is morally and ethically obliged to create a conducive working environment for its employees. For us at ABL our people are not only our enduring advantage. We understand that the success and growth of the business mostly depends on the use of their talent and drive which helps ABL to brew and sell great beer. It is in view of this that the need to celebrate and reward hardworking and long serving employees becomes important.
Mr. William Crabbe of the Utilities Department who was awarded for contributing 35 years of service to ABL was grateful to the company for recognizing his effort and noted that ‘‘not many organizations especially in these trying times can sustain their human capital. As I bask in the joy that comes with this recognition, I wish to also thank ABL for providing a working environment that is safe and sustainable, enabling us to support our families’’
In attendance at the event were Mr. Emmanuel Bennimah, and Mr. Thomas Atia both of Industrial and Commercial Union, as well as Directors and employees of ABL.
