Achimota School were crowned champions of the maiden Greater Accra Regional Championship of the National Science and Maths Quiz after a stunning performance Thursday.
The contest was tipped to be a fierce one but as it progressed, Achimota made it look like child’s play.
The two contestants for Achimota gave an excellent display of speed and accuracy and it paid off in the end, earning them a record 73 points for the Greater Accra region.
The students of Achimota School who were in their numbers at the quiz hall to give their support couldn’t keep calm.
They sent deafening and unending cheers into the hall, asserting their victory.
St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High, otherwise called Old Toms were expected to march Achimota boot for boot but they were caught off guard.
They ended the contest with 37 points.
Chemu Senior High slayed giants, Presec Legon to reach the final but it appears they used all their firepower as they scored only 33 points.
Students of Achimota School kept cheering their contestant, filling the hall with echos of their anthem.
