The Ada Traditional Council has issued a warning to media houses, particularly The Fourth Estate and its associates, accusing them of publishing misleading reports about the Ada Songhor development efforts.
In a press statement, the Council expressed concern over what it described as biased journalism aimed at undermining the progress tied to Electrochem Ghana Limited’s operations in the area.
The statement alleged that recent reports by The Fourth Estate align with the interests of the Ada Songhor Lagoon Association (ASLA), a group that the Council claims has sought to tarnish the reputation of Electrochem Ghana Limited.
It cautioned against inciting the community against developmental initiatives, asserting that such actions jeopardise livelihoods and promote selfish agendas.
“The Ada Traditional Council is the highest customary authority in the Ada Traditional Area,” the statement emphasised, urging the public to disregard any comments by Naana Korlekie Korle II, Queen Mother of the Terkperbiawe clan.
The Council revealed that it had restrained her from official duties since March 2022 under the Chieftaincy Act.
The Council called on all parties to prioritise the collective good over individual interests and warned against actions that threaten the area’s development.
