Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) PLC has congratulated the 2024 National Best Farmer, Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong, and all other award winners.
Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong, the 2024 National Best Farmer takes home an ultimate cash prize of GH¢1 million sponsored by ADB PLC.
The awards night was graced by President Nana Akufo-Addo; Agriculture Minister; Dr Bryan Acheampong; Fisheries Minster, Mavis Hawa Koomson; other Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State; key government officials; the Board and Management of ADB; farmers and awardees; policymakers; agricultural experts; investors; the diplomatic community among others.
In his congratulatory message, the Managing Director, Alhassan Yakubu-Tali stated that the celebration of the country’s farmers and fishers over the past 40 years, indicates the indispensable role agriculture plays in sustaining food security, generating employment, and driving economic development across Ghana and beyond.
“Today, we honour not only the immense contributions of our farmers and fishers, but also the indispensable role agriculture plays in sustaining food security, generating employment, and driving economic development across Ghana and beyond,” he said.

He disclosed that since 1965, ADB has proudly stood by Ghana’s farmers and fishers by providing innovative financial products, advisory services, and partnerships that facilitate access to markets and strengthen the agribusiness value chain.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to providing financial and advisory services for the sustainable growth of the entire agric value chain for wealth creation,” he added.
Alhaji Yakubu-Tali noted that this year’s celebration marked a significant milestone and served as a reminder of our responsibility as title a sponsor to continue expanding opportunities for growth and resilience within the agricultural sector.
“ADB PLC will continue to be the Bank of choice for agribusiness financing, providing universal products and services that best serve the needs of the agricultural sector and beyond,” he said.
The ADB MD, who was recently adjudged the Public Sector CEO of the year 2024, added that the Bank will continue to be a lead partner for the implementation of agricultural policy initiatives by the government such as the Planting for Food and Jobs, One District, One Factory (1D1F), Tree Crops Development among others.

The 2024 National Best Farmer, Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong, is a 70-year-old farmer from the Sekyere Central District of the Ashanti Region.
Accordingly, Nana Owusu's farming journey began 50 years ago and he is the owner of North American farms. He currently has 168 workers cultivating diverse crops including cocoa and cashew.
The 40th National Best Farmer Awards ceremony was held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Alisa Hotel, Accra.
