Government says it is investigating Kakra Vanlare, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Adenta, Accra, for an alleged incompetence and causing disaffection for the NDC.
Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a Deputy Minister of Information, disclosed this to Joy FM’s flagship programme Newsfile on Saturday.
“It has come to us and we are investigating it,” he told host of the programme, Kofi Ansah.
Some constituency Executives of the ruling National Democratic Congress in Adenta, have been demanding the resignation of the Metropolitan Chief Executive for the area.
Kakra Vanlare has also been accused of breaching several portions of the Procurement Law in the award of a contract for some road construction in the area.
Christian Golu, Constituency Secretary, some weeks ago told Joy News: “We are simply asking her to resign her position because to be honest with you, I was one of the referees on her CV and I need to impress the constituency that the task given to you, you will be able to deliver. For now she does not measure up to the task.”
According to Mr Golu, certain decisions taken by the MCE, such as the indiscriminate arrest of tanker drivers in the area, will have serious implications for the party in the 2012 elections.
