The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta, says adequate resources have been made available for the upcoming December 2020 polls.
According to him, the budgetary provision is to ensure a safe and secure environment during elections.
“We have made adequate provision to ensure that the elections are conducted in a safe and secured environment.”
In recent activities, the country has seen a growing number of violent clashes between the 2 major political parties.
A peace walk by supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) on October 25, turned violent in Jamestown in the Odododiodio constituency.
The incident saw several others from both parties sustain various degrees of injuries.

During the 2021 first-quarter budget statement presentation, Ken Ofori Atta also noted that the government has set out security measures to ensure a violent free election.

“Government has also instituted various security measures to ensure that we have peaceful elections and effectively contain all threats.”
