The President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, has nominated Mr David Adom, a former Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), for the position of Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF). The nomination of Mr Adom is subject to the approval of Parliament. If approved, he will replace Mr Joshua Nicol. The Speaker of Parliament, Mrs Joyce Bamford-Addo, told the House about the nomination of Mr Adom by the President yesterday and referred it to the Appointments Committee of the House. Mr Adom, who is now a tax consultant, was instrumental in the passage of the Internal Revenue Act, 2000.
