Head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo, says his focus at the moment is the fixture against Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Ghana play Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, September 5, in their first group game before coming up against Niger four days later.
Prior to the Black Stars commencing their AFCON qualifying series, they had played four of their 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Quizzed on whether there is a chance of the team to be at the global showpiece, Addo preferred not to talk about the World Cup.
"It's very important that we focus on the next game, and to be honest, I'm not thinking about the World Cup at the moment," he said.
"For me, I am just focusing on Angola; we have to beat them. It will be very difficult. They have a strong squad, and it would be a big mistake to think about anything else.
"I'm really sorry, but we have to take one step at a time. We have to qualify for the AFCON first, and this is my aim at the moment.
"For this, we need a good start against Angola, and that’s what I'm thinking about at the moment and nothing else."
The AFCON Qualifiers begins on September 4 across all part of the continent with Ghana's game scheduled for Thursday, September 5.
