The Black Queens failed to qualify for the 2012 Africa Women Championship following defeat to Cameroon in the second round qualifiers in Yaoundé
The Black Queens lost 9-10 on penalties in Yaoundé on Sunday after drawing 1-1 in regulation time just like the first leg in Accra.
The Black Queens looked to be heading for a win after taking a first half lead but the hosts leveled from a spot kick with three minutes remaining.
And during penalties, Ghana fell short as Cameroon edged them to a place at the Africa Women Championship finals in Equatorial Guinea, later in November.
Ghana will thus miss out on Africa’s flagship women’s football tournament for the first time since the inception of the biennial championship in 1998.
