Mr Seif Dini Ahmed, President of the African Hockey Federation (AfHF) is expected to lead a high-powered delegation from AfHF for the official launch of the tournament.A statement issued by Bernard Mornah, Deputy Chief Executive of the AfHF Cup of Nations LOC copied to GNA Sports said the President’s visit is also in connection with the inspection of facilities for the tourney billed for 10 to 18 July this year.The 59-year old Egyptian is also expected to visit the newly rehabilitated Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium, the hotels penciled for the tournament and medical facilities.The visit of the AfHF President is considered an indication of the special importance that the continental body attaches to the 9th edition of the AfHF Cup of Nations.Whilst in Ghana, the former Egyptian national hockey star will pay a courtesy call on His Excellency, President John Evans Atta Mills and Vice President John Mahama.Mr Ahmed who has been involved in hockey for decades is also President of the Egypt Hockey Federation and a member of Executive Board of the International Hockey Federation (FIH).Source: GNA
