The Deputy Local Government Minister, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah has denied inaugurating the Greater Accra branch of the students wing of the NDC - TEIN.
The party has distanced itself from a forum the group organized on Monday attended by former first lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings and Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, both vice chairpersons of the party.
The group claims the deputy minister endorsed its activities because he inaugurated it.
But Mr. Afriyie-Ankrah, a former Deputy General Secretary of the party, said the claims were untrue.
He recounted an invitation he received to attend a handing over ceremony of Accra Polytechnic branch of TEIN.
“I’ve been a Deputy General Secretary of the party and I will not be part of any illegality,” he stated, explaining that the NDC Constitution states clearly that “TEIN is meant for students on campus. When you cease to be a student, you go and join the main mother party.”
